DR. DILLIP KUMAR CHAND
ProfessorEducation
Biography
Dillip Kumar Chand received his Ph. D from IIT Kanpur (1993 – 1998, Supervisor: Prof. P. K. Bharadwaj). Subsequently, he acquired postdoctoral experience from the Universität des Saarlandes, Germany (1999 – 2000, Host: Prof. H. J. Schneider), Nagoya University and The University of Tokyo, Japan (2000 – 2002, Host: Prof. M. Fujita). He joined IIT Madras as an Assistant Professor in 2003 and was promoted to the position of Professor in 2014. A molecular star of [Pd5(La)5(Lb)5] composition prepared by his group made the list of “Molecules of the Year 2017” as adjudicated by ACS – C&EN. Catalytic protocols developed by his group are popular and adopted by researchers across the globe for making new molecules of pharmaceutical values.
